Social Media & Digital Marketing Projects
CDAA is currently involved in projects that utilise new web 2.0 strategies as part of the consultancy. In 2008 we attended a Digital Marketing and Media Summit in Melbourne which discussed social media and best practice methods of implementing strategies to expand market reach and build brand equity for our clients.
Social Media is all about people and their conversations. It’s were the consumer does not separate the marketing and brand experience from the product experience. Research conducted by Nielsen Online determined that Australian consumers are spending more time each week on the internet than engaging in any other media.
While TV and Radio are still very popular a large percentage of consumers (over 60+%) are simultaneously consuming Internet media at the same time. Five out of the top twenty visited sites are Consumer Generated Media offerings. Web 2.0 is all about Consumer Generated Media. Consumer Generated Media refers to a variety of new and emerging sources of online information that are created, initiated, circulated and used by consumer’s intent on educating each other about products, brands, services, personalities and issues.
Between 2007 and 2008 Consumer Generated Media has shifted from niche activity to a mainstream activity relative to a much broader target audience. For CDAA this means incorporating Consumer Generated Media strategies as part of our client’s solutions is something that will become more common place in 2009. If used effectively we are able provide a measurable and compelling value proposition to our clients through online communication channels that expand their market reach using existing social network infrastructure.
Although many senior decision makers are new to digital marketing, the same rules apply as they would with marketing using more traditional media.
- Determine the characteristics of prospective customers.
- Figure out how to most efficiently reach them.
- Craft messages that matters to them.
- Deliver those messages and provide a call to action.
In 2009 CDAA is looking forward to continuing our work with new social media projects for our clients. For those of you who are or are interested in incorporating social media as part of your communication strategy we would love for you to hear from you.
