Project Methodology

Our experience of successful project delivery has been drawn from a variety of best practice project management methodologies including Prince2.

The result of this unique collaboration of knowledge is the development of our own methodology that best suits the type of projects that we deliver and the clients that we serve.

Project Scope - Business requirements and analysis

A well-defined project scope helps to prevent specification creep.  The scoping process will clearly identify the business requirements or any business issues that the project is required to fulfill.  All problem issues that may occur will be documented along with the required business solutions.

Functional Specification

A functional specification describes the 'what' of the system. The aim of this process is to identify the relevant functional characteristics rather than analyse the technical detail of how the functions are performed.

Technical Specification

The technical specification looks at the development of functional elements of a project in order to describe the ‘how’ of a system design.  The specification will describe the technology used to implement the project including programming languages, operating environments, supporting technologies, database systems and any other relevant technical information.

Project Delivery Schedule

The project deliver schedule outlines the major steps involved in completing the project. The project schedule often features a detailed timeline for deliverables for both CDAA and client. While the schedule is designed to be flexible, our intention and commitment to you is to ensure the project stays within the original timelines and budget.

Test Planning

Test planning in most projects incorporates a detailed description of each element of the project including what is to be tested and how. The testing us normally based on minimum project acceptance level(s) and user requirements enabling both the project manager and the user to establish appropriate benchmarks by which to test the project’s requirements.

User Documentation Guides

We prepare all user documentation including style guides, maintenance, hosting and training resource material.  While some non-custom system documentation can be used in its generic form, all documents can be branded and tailor designed to uniquely reflect your projects features and functionality.

Implementation Details

Planning the delivery of your project must be carefully considered.  Our project team will conduct were necessary a predictive timing test and prepare a schedule of implementation procedures. Included may also be fallback plans and disaster recovery procedures in case of failure of the implemented system.

Delivery to Production

Once satisfactory system tests have been performed successfully, the new or modified application is ready for migration into the production environment. Our project team will ensure adequate back up copies are taken prior to implementation and fallback and recovery procedures have been put in place.

Post Implementation Reviews

All development projects are subject to a post implementation review. The purpose of this is to determine the applications effectiveness and assess the success of the project. Our aim will be to initiate improvements based on the outcomes and experience gained during the project’s development.
